Kinesthetic Wall

The Kinesthetic Wall is an engaging interactive wall installation, created as part of my Master’s thesis. This project harnesses the physical setup designed by Jason Krugman’s studio, which I have adapted and enhanced with a responsive light system. Through the use of a Kinect camera, the installation detects movements and depth, mirroring these dynamics with an array of adjustable responsive lights. The system, programmed in Python and designed with Rhino and Grasshopper, adjusts various parameters like strength, color, and delay, to reflect the motion in front of it with varying parameters like delay, brightness and color.

In an architectural context, the Kinesthetic Wall challenges the interaction between space and its inhabitants. It blurs the lines between the physical and the digital, creating an immersive kinesthetic experience. This installation not only reflects physical movements but also influences the perception and behavior of its audience, making the architectural space an active participant in the user experience. The Kinesthetic Wall exemplifies the potential of integrating interactive technology into architectural design, paving the way for future explorations in dynamic and responsive environments.
